Payroll/Accountant Sydney

Overview:

  • North Sydney location
  • $90,000 Plus Super

Company
Reputable private school requires an experienced Payroll Officer for an extended leave cover contract commencing mid January until mid October 2022. 

Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager this stand alone role is an integral part of the Business Management team. Duties will include;

  • Processing end to end payroll processes, including Single Touch Payroll reporting, salary packaging, leave management, timesheets, and superannuation.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain up to date payroll information; and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Verify the calculation of pay, entitlements, or disbursements prior to processing.
  • Support the wider HR team with data and reporting activities.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to staff and the community by providing high quality and timely service, responding to staff salary and entitlement requests.
  • Interpret and apply the Independent Schools NSW Multi-Enterprise Agreement (Teachers and Support and Operational Staff)
  • Comply with and maintain up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies, procedures, and legislative/regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in projects, which enhance the payroll function.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties during busy periods.

Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will be an Accountant who has had some Payroll experience. Other requirements include; 

  • Proven reconciliation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • NSW Working with Children Check clearance required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage difficult situations
